Our Story
Raised with Intention. Guided by Karma.
Karmik Katz is a small, passionate Bengal cattery nestled in Mission, British Columbia — where every kitten is born into a home filled with love, energy, and purpose.
How It Began
A Love That Found Us
Our journey with Bengals didn't begin with a plan — it began with a pull. A quiet, undeniable feeling that something was drawing us toward this breed long before we had the words to explain it. The moment our first Bengal looked into our eyes, we understood. This wasn't chance. This was written.
Karmik Katz was born from that knowing. We believe every soul carries an energy, and that certain animals are destined to find certain people. Our role is not to manufacture that connection — it's to honour it. To raise each kitten with such intention and love that when the right family arrives, the bond is instant, deep, and unshakeable.
Nestled in beautiful Mission, British Columbia, we are a small, home-based cattery where kittens are raised underfoot and surrounded by warmth from their very first breath. Handled daily, socialized with care, and sent into the world ready to love — because that is what they were born to do.
Our Philosophy
Beauty. Energy. Legacy.
01
Beauty
We select for the most stunning coat patterns — rich rosettes, vivid contrast, and that signature Bengal glitter. Every kitten is a living work of art.
02
Energy
Bengals are alive with spirit. We raise kittens that are confident, curious, and deeply bonded — full of the vibrant energy the breed is known for.
03
Legacy
We are building something that lasts. Every pairing is chosen with care, every kitten placed with intention — contributing to a lineage we're proud of.
The Bengal Breed
What Makes a Bengal Extraordinary
The Bengal is unlike any other domestic cat. Born from careful crossings with the Asian Leopard Cat, they carry the wild in their coat and the warmth of a devoted companion in their heart. Here's what every prospective Bengal owner should know.
Origins & Wild Ancestry
Bengals were developed in the 1960s and 70s by crossing domestic cats with the Asian Leopard Cat (Prionailurus bengalensis). The result is a breed that looks wild but loves deeply. Today's Bengals are many generations removed from their wild ancestors and are fully domestic in temperament.
Coat & Appearance
The Bengal coat is one of nature's masterpieces — thick, soft, and covered in spots or rosettes that mimic a leopard or jaguar. Many carry the glitter gene, causing their fur to shimmer in sunlight. Coat colours include brown, silver, charcoal, and snow.
Temperament & Personality
Bengals are highly intelligent, playful, and intensely loyal. They bond deeply with their families, follow you from room to room, and communicate with a rich vocabulary of chirps, trills, and chatters. They thrive on interaction and mental stimulation.
Activity & Enrichment
This is an athletic, high-energy breed. Bengals love to climb, leap, and explore. Tall cat trees, puzzle feeders, exercise wheels, and interactive play are essential. Cat exercise wheels are a favourite in Bengal households — they allow your cat to run at full speed indoors and burn off that wild energy. Many Bengals also enjoy leash walks and can be trained to fetch — yes, really.
Love of Water
Unlike most cats, Bengals are fascinated by water. Don't be surprised to find yours splashing in the sink, joining you in the shower, or batting at their water bowl. A pet fountain is a popular choice for Bengal households.
Allergy-Friendly
Bengals produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein — the primary allergen responsible for cat allergies. While no cat is truly hypoallergenic, many allergy sufferers find they can live comfortably with a Bengal.
